  • Pose Considerations

When conceptualizing your poses, focus on:

    - Dynamic Movement: Create poses that suggest flow, tension, or an implied trajectory

    - Light Interaction: Position yourself to create interesting shadow and highlight relationships

    - Spatial Awareness: Utilize available props and furniture to enhance pose complexity

    - Review poses on this site for ideas suggestions and come prepared with a few poses planned (you may even want to practice them at home to ensure you can comfortably hold them for the time allotment) https://line-of-action.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing

     Recommended Pose Development Strategies

    1. Short Poses (5 minutes each)

       - Experiment with:

          Twisting torsos

          Foreshortened perspectives

Partial interactions with props or furniture

    2. Medium Pose (20 minutes)

       - Consider a seated or partially supported position

       - Integrate a prop to add narrative or structural interest

    3. Long Pose (45 minutes)

       - Design a carefully considered, stable position

       - Prioritize comfort and sustainability

       - Create visual intrigue through:

          Subtle body asymmetry

          Interesting relationships with surrounding space

          Strategic prop or furniture integration
